In a commanding performance, Eric Dixon scored 24 points as Villanova triumphed over Temple with a score of 94-65 on Saturday evening.
Dixon contributed significantly to the Wildcats’ (6-4) victory, pulling down six rebounds. Wooga Poplar supported the effort with 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Jordan Longino added 14 points to the scoreboard.
For the Owls (4-4), Jamal Mashburn Jr. led his team with 20 points. Zion Stanford and William Settle each chipped in with 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Villanova’s dominance.
Villanova seized the lead early in the game, just 18 minutes and 54 seconds into the first half, and maintained control throughout. Dixon was particularly impactful in the first half, scoring 13 points, which helped the Wildcats establish a comfortable 45-29 advantage by halftime.
In the second half, Villanova increased its margin, outscoring Temple by 13 points, with Dixon again showing his skills by scoring 11 points in that period.
