GREENSBORO, N.C. — Kenyon Giles led the charge for UNC Greensboro with a standout performance, netting 25 points in their 67-55 triumph over N.C. A&T on Saturday.
Giles contributed not only offensively but also on the boards, securing five rebounds for the Spartans, who improved their record to 5-4. Donovan Atwell also made a significant impact, scoring 15 points and grabbing five rebounds. Jalen Breath had a challenging shooting night, making only 1 of 6 attempts from the floor, but still managed to add 10 points, all coming from the free-throw line, along with 10 rebounds.
The Aggies, now standing at 3-6, were powered by Ryan Forrest, who tallied 18 points and eight rebounds. Camian Shell contributed 15 points, while Jahnathan Lamothe added 13 points and recorded two steals for N.C. A&T.
Atwell made a strong start by scoring 11 points in the opening half, but UNC Greensboro went into halftime narrowly behind at 36-35. In the second half, Giles exploded for 15 points, guiding the Spartans to a commanding 12-point victory as they closed the game strong.
In terms of upcoming games, UNC Greensboro is set to face North Florida away on Saturday, while N.C. A&T will look to rebound against Virginia Tech on Thursday.
