AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic to undergo assessment for calf injury
MILAN — Christian Pulisic, a midfielder for the United States, may be sidelined for several weeks due to a right calf injury sustained while playing for AC Milan.

The injury occurred during the first half of Milan’s match against Atalanta on Friday, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat. Pulisic is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to assess the severity of the injury.

As a result of this setback, it is anticipated that Pulisic will miss the upcoming Champions League fixture against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday. He may also be unavailable for the Serie A games against Genoa and Hellas Verona, adding to the team’s challenges.

This season, Pulisic has made a significant impact for Milan, contributing five goals and four assists in Serie A, along with three goals in the Champions League, solidifying his status as one of the club’s standout performers.

On the national front, the U.S. men’s soccer team does not have any official matches until they meet Panama in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Nations League in March, allowing Pulisic some time to recover ahead of that important fixture.
