A man from Tignall, Georgia, has been detained after being accused of murdering three individuals and injuring another. The suspect, Shannon Box, 56, was taken into custody on Friday following a search that began on Thursday morning, when authorities found three deceased individuals and a woman suffering injuries.

The Wilkes County sheriff’s deputies located Box at a remote church after receiving tips from the public. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Box was placed under arrest “without incident.”

He faces multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. Box is currently being held at the Wilkes County Jail located in Washington, though it is not clear if he has engaged legal representation or appeared before a judge yet.

On Thursday, deputies responded to an emergency call concerning an injured woman at a residence in Tignall. Upon further inquiries, they discovered that the woman had sustained injuries at a different location. When deputies visited this second residence, they ultimately found three deceased individuals inside, as per the investigation reports.

The three victims have been identified as Chauncey Box, 55, Brenda Lipscomb, 67, and Michael Schmidt, 55, all from Tignall. Investigators have not commented on whether Shannon Box is related to any of the deceased individuals.

The injured woman remains in the hospital as of Friday, although her identity has not been disclosed. Tignall is located approximately 50 miles (80 kilometers) northwest of Augusta, close to the South Carolina state border.
