LONDON — Tottenham’s head coach Ange Postecoglou is preparing for potentially more “honest feedback” from supporters if his team underperforms against Chelsea on Sunday.

Despite this possibility, the Australian manager remains unconcerned.

“I’ve been part of this world long enough to understand that when fans are not satisfied, they will voice their opinions. I will never shy away from that. Taking responsibility is part of my role, and I welcome it,” Postecoglou stated during a press conference on Friday.

Currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, Postecoglou experienced an interaction with disappointed away fans following the match. He later referred to their reactions as “honest feedback.”

“I’m not let down, I’m not frustrated, and I’m certainly not angry,” he mentioned on Friday. “My determination to set things right remains strong, not just because of this feedback but due to my commitment to achieving success for the club.”

“I don’t rely on support, and I’m not fixated on contracts. My main focus is to ensure I fulfill my goals — to deliver success for this football club. Nothing will deter my ambitions or efforts in this regard.”

The team’s performance has been erratic, with the squad showing a tendency to alternate between impressive victories and disappointing outings. For instance, after a remarkable 4-0 win against Manchester City, Spurs drew 2-2 with Roma in the Europa League, followed by a 1-1 draw with Fulham, and ultimately the loss to Bournemouth.

Chelsea approaches this weekend in strong form, currently occupying the second spot on the league table.

In terms of player availability, central defender Cristian Romero was scheduled to participate in Friday’s training session, with a decision pending regarding his fitness for Sunday’s match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Additionally, center-back Ben Davies was expected to undergo a scan on his left hamstring after being substituted in the 62nd minute of Thursday’s clash.
