IRVINE, Calif. — In an impressive display, Justin Hohn scored 19 points, paving the way for UC Irvine to secure an 82-66 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday night.

Hohn not only showcased his scoring ability but also recorded eight assists for the Anteaters, who improved to a perfect 9-0 overall and opened their Big West Conference play with a strong 1-0 record.

Jurian Dixon was another key contributor, netting 17 points with a shooting line of 4-of-9 from the field while going 9-of-13 at the free-throw line. He also contributed defensively with three steals.

Bent Leuchten made a significant impact as well, scoring 15 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. He added a well-rounded performance with seven rebounds and three blocks.

On the other side of the court, Jemel Jones spearheaded the offense for the Roadrunners, achieving a standout performance with 24 points and eight rebounds. Cal State Bakersfield also had strong contributions from Corey Stephenson, who notched 18 points to go along with eight rebounds, and Marvin McGhee, who chipped in with nine points.
