DETROIT — In a thrilling encounter on Thursday, Detroit Mercy edged out Purdue Fort Wayne with a narrow victory of 79-78, thanks in large part to Legend Geeter’s stellar performance, finishing the game with 22 points.

Geeter was instrumental not only in scoring but also on the boards, securing nine rebounds for the Titans, who improved their overall record to 5-5 and kicked off their Horizon League campaign with a win, now standing at 1-0.

Orlando Lovejoy contributed significantly to the team’s success by netting 18 points. He demonstrated accuracy with an impressive shooting performance, going 8 of 15 from the field, while also facilitating his teammates with nine assists.
