A tennis official hailing from Bosnia-Herzegovina has been handed a four-year suspension by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) due to multiple breaches of the tennis anti-corruption framework, which notably included engaging in betting activities on professional matches.

The decision regarding Damjan Dejanovic was made public by the ITIA this Thursday, alongside a financial penalty of 5,000 euros (approximately $5,285). Dejanovic has served as an official at tournaments organized by the International Tennis Federation that featured prize pools of $15,000.

According to reports from the ITIA, Dejanovic acknowledged that he placed bets on tennis matches. However, he refuted allegations related to tampering with the entry of scoring data. Despite his denials, an independent hearing officer concluded that he was indeed responsible for six violations that occurred between 2022 and 2023.

Initially, Dejanovic was provisionally suspended starting January 8, and this time will count towards his overall ban. As a result, his suspension will conclude on January 7, 2028.
