Jaylen Blakes led the Cardinal with 18 points, while Maxime Raynaud delivered a strong game himself, notching a double-double with 14 points and a career-best 17 rebounds. Oziyah Sellers and Ryan Agarwal also made significant contributions, scoring 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Stanford, who improved their record to 7-2. The team shot 47.6% overall, with 30 successful field goals out of 63 attempts, although their 3-point shooting was less effective, hitting only 5 out of 20.
With 4:29 left in the first half, Tanner Toolson energized the Wolverines by completing a dunk and a subsequent three-point play, narrowing the gap to 28-26. However, Stanford quickly responded, launching a decisive 10-0 run to close out the half. Raynaud capped off the scoring with a jump shot and a dunk in the final seconds, leaving Stanford ahead with a solid 38-26 lead at halftime.
The Cardinal continued their momentum into the second half, beginning with a 9-2 run featuring Blakes’ free throws, layups by both Raynaud and Chisom Okpara, and a 3-pointer from Blakes, pushing their lead to 47-28. Utah Valley struggled to keep pace, with Kylin Green’s layup at the 10:54 mark becoming the closest the Wolverines would get in the second half, at 53-44, as Stanford maintained control for most of the game.
For the Wolverines, Dominick Nelson was the standout player, scoring 22 points, while Toolson added 11 in the defeat, leaving Utah Valley with a record of 4-4.
