CHARLESTON, S.C. — In an impressive showing, RJ Johnson netted 30 points, guiding Charleston Southern to a decisive 83-68 victory over UT Martin on Tuesday evening.
Johnson also contributed significantly with six assists for the Buccaneers, who now hold a record of 3-7 this season. Supporting Johnson, Taje’ Kelly added 16 points and secured seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Daylen Berry showcased his shooting skills, going 5 for 8 from the field, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc, totaling 14 points, along with eight rebounds.
For UT Martin, Josue Grullon emerged as the top scorer with 24 points, while Tarence Guinyard made a solid contribution with 18 points of his own. Afan Trnka chipped in nine points; however, the Skyhawks have now endured six consecutive defeats, bringing their record to 2-6.
