CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In a recent announcement, the ownership of the Carolina Panthers revealed that Kristi Coleman has been elevated to the role of chief executive officer for Tepper Sports & Entertainment (TSE), marking a significant milestone as she becomes one of the most prominent female figures in professional sports.
Coleman will maintain her position as president of the Panthers while taking on these additional responsibilities.
Owner David Tepper highlighted that this leadership change is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at boosting organizational efficiency and fostering collaboration through streamlined processes.
“Kristi’s extensive experience of over ten years within our organization positions her as a capable leader, equipped with the knowledge and vision necessary to navigate us through this significant period of growth,” Tepper stated.
Commenting on her new role, Coleman expressed her intention to promote unity, adopt innovative solutions, and enhance the organization’s operations.
“By refining our operational strategies, we are addressing current needs while also laying the groundwork for sustainable expansion and success, which will ultimately benefit our staff, fans, and business partners with outstanding experiences,” Coleman noted.
Additionally, TSE announced several immediate organizational changes, including:
— The formation of a chief revenue officer position that will unify all departments responsible for generating revenue; this role is currently vacant and will report directly to the CEO. Coleman is leading the recruitment for this new role.
— The introduction of a chief business officer role specifically for Major League Soccer’s Charlotte FC, which will oversee all aspects of the club’s business operations, replacing the previous title of club president. Joe LaBue will shift into a consulting position, and the new CBO will report directly to Coleman. During the search for the CBO, Natalee Jarrett, who currently serves as vice president of business operations at Charlotte FC, will assume interim leadership responsibilities for the club.
— David Nelson will advance to the newly created position of vice president of premium sales & services, where he will focus on strategy and development concerning premium offerings and business solutions for the Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Bank of America Stadium. His team will strive to provide exceptional high-end experiences for clients at the stadium.
— Bonnie Almond has been promoted to vice president of venue operations and will report to chief venues officer Caroline Wright. With more than ten years of experience in the organization, Almond will oversee various events and operations across all TSE venues, including responsibilities for safety and security during events.
