JERUSALEM — The Israeli Defense Forces have announced that Hezbollah has launched projectiles into a contested border area, marking the group’s first offensive action since a ceasefire agreement was implemented last week. This incident follows Lebanon’s claims that Israel has breached the ceasefire over 50 times in recent days.
According to military reports released on Monday, two projectiles were directed toward Mount Dov, a contested Israeli-controlled region also referred to as Shebaa Farms in Lebanon, located at the intersection of the borders of Lebanon, Syria, and Israel. The Israeli military confirmed that the projectiles landed in unpopulated areas, and there were no reported injuries.
On Wednesday, a ceasefire mediated by the United States and France took effect, establishing a 60-day halt in hostilities. This agreement seeks to bring an end to over a year of intermittent clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.
