NASSAU, Bahamas — On Sunday night, Samage Teel delivered an impressive performance with 24 points, leading Indiana State to a convincing 87-71 victory over Tarleton State during the Baha Mar Hoops event.
In addition to his scoring, Teel also contributed eight rebounds to the Sycamores’ efforts, which improved their record to 5-4. Markus Harding made his mark by adding 15 points, shooting 7 of 10 from the field, and securing seven rebounds. Bruno Alocen also played a pivotal role, contributing 14 points, with his shooting effort including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc.
The Texans, who fell to 2-7 with this defeat, were spearheaded by Ronnie Harrison Jr., who scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds. Bubu Benjamin also had a significant impact, adding 20 points, while Izzy Miles contributed 12 points and six rebounds to the cause.
Indiana State established control of the game with 13:31 left in the first half and maintained that edge throughout the contest. Teel was particularly effective in the opening half, scoring 17 points, which helped the Sycamores secure a substantial 53-31 lead at halftime. Although Tarleton State outscored Indiana State in the second half by a margin of six points, the Sycamores still held on for the win, with Teel continuing to perform excellently by leading his team with seven points in the final half.
