    SAN FRANCISCO — Malik Thomas showcased an impressive performance by scoring 29 points as San Francisco secured an 87-59 victory over Mercyhurst on Sunday evening.

    Thomas also made an impact defensively, recording four steals for the Dons, who improved their record to 6-2. Carlton Linguard contributed 14 points, completing 5 of 7 attempts from the field and hitting 3 of 5 free throws. Tyrone Riley IV added 13 points, going 5 of 8 from the floor, although he struggled from beyond the arc, making just 1 of 4 attempts.

    On the opposing side, Jeff Planutis was the standout player for the Lakers, finishing with 19 points. Mercyhurst also received solid contributions from Bernie Blunt, who scored 14 points and collected four steals, along with Shemar Rathan-Mayes, who tallied 11 points.

    Linguard was instrumental in the first half, scoring nine points, but San Francisco found themselves trailing at halftime with a score of 36-32. However, Thomas turned the tide in the second half, scoring 20 points and helping the Dons pull away for a commanding 28-point win.
