Thedford contributes 19 points as Western Kentucky overcomes Marshall 90-82

    BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — On Saturday night, Julius Thedford emerged as a key player for Western Kentucky, scoring 19 points off the bench and guiding the team to a 90-82 victory over Marshall.
    Thedford’s impressive shooting included 6 of 8 from the floor, with 4 of those shots coming from beyond the arc (4 for 5), and he also contributed 3 of 7 from the free-throw line. The win improved the Hilltoppers’ record to 4-3.
    Alongside Thedford, Tyrone Marshall added 18 points, connecting on 6 of 9 shots, which included 3 for 6 from 3-point territory and 3 for 4 from the free-throw line, while also pulling down five rebounds. Babacar Faye made his mark with 14 points, demonstrating efficient scoring by hitting 5 of 6 attempts from the field and perfecting his free-throw shooting at 4 for 4.
    On the other side, Mikal Dawson stood out for the Thundering Herd with a game-high of 28 points along with two steals. Nate Martin contributed significantly with 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Ryan Nutter chipped in with 12 points of his own for Marshall, also with a record of 4-3.
    In the first half, Thedford was particularly impactful, scoring 13 points, but Western Kentucky found themselves trailing at halftime with a score of 40-36. The second half saw Tyrone Marshall Jr. contribute 16 points, enabling Western Kentucky to rally and secure the eight-point win.
