    WILMINGTON, N.C. — In a strong showing on Saturday night, UNC Wilmington claimed a 76-61 win over Appalachian State, with Donovan Newby leading the Seahawks with 16 points.
    Newby also contributed six assists during the game, helping his team improve to a record of 5-2.
    Alongside him, Nolan Hodge scored 15 points, finishing with an efficient shooting performance of 6 for 10, which included two successful three-point attempts out of five tries, and secured six rebounds.
    Harlan Obioha made a perfect impact, scoring 12 points on 5 of 5 shooting from the field and converting 2 of his 5 free throws.

    The Mountaineers, now at 5-3 for the season, were led in scoring by CJ Huntley, who put up 17 points.
    Jalil Beaubrun also had a solid performance, contributing 16 points along with 11 rebounds, and Alonzo Dodd chipped in with 11 points.

    UNC Wilmington took control of the game early, seizing the lead with 15:43 left in the first half and maintaining it throughout the match.
    By halftime, the Seahawks had a comfortable advantage, leading 44-33, with Hodge being a standout player by that point, having tallied 15 points.
