The incident occurred at approximately 2:44 a.m., and the Jefferson City Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the explosion. The damage to the structure was extensive, complicating efforts to access the victims trapped within the debris. It took over three hours for the fire department’s Special Operations Rescue Team to safely reach all of those affected.

Among the injured, three residents were reported to be in critical condition, while the other three sustained injuries that were classified as stable. Additionally, the fire department indicated that two pets were successfully rescued from the wreckage of the home.
