CLEVELAND — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Morehead State emerged victorious against Cleveland State with a close score of 71-69. Jalen Breazeale was a key player for Morehead, contributing 14 points to the win.
With just 8 seconds remaining in the game, Anouar Mellouk successfully made one of two free throws, solidifying Morehead’s lead. Cleveland State’s Tevin Smith attempted a crucial 3-pointer in the final moments, but his shot missed the mark, sealing the victory for Morehead State.
Breazeale demonstrated impressive shooting skills, hitting 4 of his 6 field goal attempts and sinking 5 of 6 from the charity stripe. Supporting him, both Tyler Brelsford and Kenny White Jr. scored 12 points each for the Eagles, while Mellouk contributed an additional 11 points to round out a strong offensive performance.
