TROY, Ala. — In an exciting matchup, Merrimack emerged victorious over Troy with a final score of 72-68 on Friday, largely thanks to the impressive performance of Devon Savage, who netted 23 points.
Savage had an outstanding shooting night, completing 8 of 10 attempts from the floor, including a remarkable 7 for 9 from beyond the arc. He was joined by Adam Clark, who contributed significantly with 20 points and showcased his versatility with nine successful shots out of 14 attempts, as well as providing seven assists and grabbing three steals. The Warriors’ Matt Becht also made a noteworthy contribution, scoring 12 points with a shooting record of 4 for 9, including 2 from 7 in three-point attempts. This win marked a significant turnaround for the Warriors, ending a frustrating six-game losing streak.
On the other side, the Trojans, who now have a record of 4-3, were led by Myles Rigsby, who secured 15 points along with six rebounds. Tayton Conerway added depth to Troy’s offense with 13 points and displayed his defensive skills by tallying six steals. Jackson Fields rounded out the scoring for the Trojans with 10 points.
