CHICAGO — In a compelling matchup on Friday, DePaul emerged victorious against Valparaiso with a decisive score of 89-70, with standout performances from key players, particularly Isaiah Rivera.
Rivera contributed significantly to the Blue Demons’ win, scoring 19 points and demonstrating impressive accuracy by nailing 7 of his 10 field goal attempts. His sharpshooting extended beyond the arc, where he connected on 3 of 4 attempts from three-point range. Additionally, Rivera made 2 of 4 free throw attempts. Other notable contributions came from Jacob Meyer, who recorded 12 points and secured seven rebounds, and CJ Gunn, who rounded out his game with 12 points on 5 of 9 shooting, including 2 for 5 from three-point land.
On the opposing side, Cooper Schwieger was a standout for the Beacons, also scoring 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
