Petty kicked off the scoring with the first four points, allowing the Buckeyes to maintain the lead throughout the game without ever trailing.
Jaloni Cambridge contributed significantly with 15 points and six assists for Ohio State (5-0), who are set to face Utah State on Friday. Taylor Thierry added seven points, achieving a career milestone of 1,000 points.
For Old Dominion (4-2), both Simaru Fields and Brenda Fontana scored 11 points. The Monarchs will be taking on Oakland in their next matchup on Saturday.

However, with Petty leading the charge — a graduate transfer from Kentucky who shot 5 of 6 from the floor — Ohio State rallied to a significantly improved 9 of 18 in the second quarter, establishing a dominant 34-14 lead by halftime.
Though Ohio State’s shooting remained inconsistent in the third quarter, Old Dominion was unable to reduce the deficit to less than 17 points. The Buckeyes finished strong, hitting 9 of 13 shots in the final quarter, despite not making any of their 11 attempts from beyond the three-point line.
Old Dominion struggled offensively, concluding the game with a shooting percentage of 34% and an alarming 28 turnovers.
