SAN FRANCISCO — Jalen Williams, a standout player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, experienced an eye injury during a recent game against the Golden State Warriors. The incident occurred with just 39 seconds remaining in the first half when Jonathan Kuminga executed a noteworthy dunk over Williams.
Following the dunk, Williams remained on the floor for several minutes, visibly in distress as he reached for his eye. He ultimately required assistance to leave the court and was escorted to the locker room.
Despite the injury, Williams had put forth a strong performance in the game, contributing 13 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and two steals within just 16 minutes of play. His efforts were critical in propelling the Thunder to a 62-50 advantage at halftime.
Currently, Williams ranks as the second leading scorer for the Thunder, averaging 22.1 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounds, with an average of 6.5 per game, and boasts 2.2 steals per game, showcasing his significant impact on the team’s performance.
