BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In an exciting matchup on Wednesday night, Jaden Brownell delivered an impressive performance, scoring 22 points to help propel Samford to an 84-76 victory over Utah Valley.
The Bulldogs improved their record to 6-2, showcasing strong team dynamics on the court. Alongside Brownell’s scoring prowess, he also contributed defensively with four steals. Rylan Jones showcased his skills as well, adding 18 points and three steals to the team’s effort. Meanwhile, Lukas Walls had a solid outing, finishing with 10 points after shooting 4 of 9 from the field, including 2 for 5 from downtown.
On the other side, the Wolverines, who now stand at 4-2, were led by Dominick Nelson, who accounted for 21 points and contributed seven rebounds. Tanner Toolson also played a key role in the game, chipping in with 15 points. Carter Welling rounded out a strong performance for Utah Valley, as he registered 14 points along with 10 rebounds, demonstrating his impact on both ends of the floor with two steals and two blocks.
