ROCK HILL, S.C. — In an impressive display of skill, Paul Jones III led Winthrop to a commanding 99-56 victory over Averett on Wednesday night, contributing 25 points to the Eagles’ win.

Jones showcased his shooting prowess, hitting 7 of 9 attempts from the field, including an exceptional 6 of 8 from beyond the arc. He also demonstrated effectiveness at the free-throw line, converting 5 of his 6 tries. The Eagles improved their season record to 6-3 with this victory.

Kasen Harrison was another key player for Winthrop, finishing the game with 15 points by making 5 of 8 shots, including a perfect 3 for 3 from the free-throw line, while collecting five rebounds. KJ Doucet also had a notable performance, contributing 14 points with an efficient shooting line of 4 for 7 from the field and a flawless 6 for 6 from the free-throw stripe.

On the other side, the Cougars were led by Davion Bowens, who recorded 11 points, in addition to grabbing eight rebounds and blocking two shots.
