BALTIMORE — In an impressive display, Marcus Banks scored 14 points to help the UMBC Retrievers secure a 92-69 win over Morgan State on Wednesday night.

Banks also contributed six rebounds to the team’s effort, showcasing his versatility on the court. Bryce Johnson supported the offense with 11 points, shooting 4 for 7 overall, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc, along with six assists. Devan Sapp added to the scoreline with 10 points, going 2 for 6 from the field and notching 1 out of 4 from three-point range, while finishing strong at the free-throw line, making five of his six attempts.

Morgan State (3-6) had standout performances from Ahmarie Simpkins, who brought in 16 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals, demonstrating a well-rounded game. Wynston Tabbs also scored 16 points, contributing with two steals. Kiran Oliver added 11 points to the Bears’ total, but it wasn’t enough to match UMBC’s overall performance.
