The Italian Grand Prix is set to stay on the Formula 1 calendar for at least eight more years, as it was confirmed on Wednesday that the event has been extended for six additional years.
Monza has been a staple on the racing schedule since the world championship’s inception in 1950, making it one of the most iconic venues in the sport.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali emphasized Monza’s significant place in Formula 1 history, stating, “Monza is at the very heart of Formula 1 history and the atmosphere each year is unique as the tifosi gather in huge numbers to cheer on Ferrari and the drivers.”
He also mentioned the recent enhancements to the circuit’s facilities and the ongoing investments that signify a strong dedication to maintaining Formula 1’s presence in Italy for the long haul.
Charles Leclerc has recently brought some excitement to the track, achieving a significant victory for Ferrari at Monza on September 1.
Next year, the Italian Grand Prix is slated to take place from September 5 to 7, continuing the tradition of high-speed drama and passionate fan engagement in this legendary setting.
