HENDERSON, Nev. — In a decisive performance, UTEP triumphed over Long Beach State with a score of 70-44 during the Ball Dawgs Classic on Tuesday evening.
David Terrell Jr. was instrumental in the Miners’ victory, contributing 18 points on an impressive 7 of 9 shooting from the field, along with 3 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Other notable performances included Corey Camper Jr., who tallied 12 points, making 5 of 10 attempts while also grabbing five rebounds and securing four steals.
Ahamad Bynum added 11 points to the scoreboard, successfully converting 4 of his 8 attempts, including 3 of 6 from three-point range.

On the opposing side, Devin Askew led Long Beach State with 21 points and recorded three steals.
TJ Wainwright also contributed significantly, finishing with 14 points and three steals for The Beach, who unfortunately extended their losing streak to seven consecutive games.

UTEP managed to gain control of the match with 6:57 left in the first half and maintained their advantage throughout the remainder of the game.
Terrell was their standout player in the first half, scoring 10 points and helping to build a lead of 37-23 at halftime.
In the second half, UTEP continued to dominate, outscoring Long Beach State by 12 points, with Terrell leading the charge again with another eight points after the break.
