GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands — In a thrilling conclusion to the Cayman Islands Classic, Boston College secured a hard-fought 63-61 victory over Boise State, thanks to a clutch 3-pointer from Joshua Beadle with just 2.2 seconds remaining.

Chad Venning led the Eagles with 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds, complemented by Beadle’s 13 points from the bench and Elijah Strong’s 11 points. Boston College showcased an impressive shooting performance, finishing at 49% from the field.

On the other side, Javan Buchanan was the standout for the Broncos, coming off the bench to score 24 points. Boise State, however, struggled with their shooting, landing at 39%. Alvaro Cardenas made notable contributions with 11 points, and Tyson Degenhart chipped in 10 points.

The game reached a turning point when Cardenas sunk two free throws, giving Boise State its first lead in over five minutes with just 12 seconds left on the clock. But Beadle quickly responded for the Eagles. After receiving the inbounds pass with only 5.6 seconds left, he calmly drilled the game-winning shot from the left corner.

Boston College had previously established a 48-40 lead, only to see it eroded as Boise State unleashed a 12-2 run, largely fueled by Buchanan’s seven points. In response, the Eagles rallied back with a 16-6 run, spearheaded by Roger McFarlane, who scored seven points to get BC back ahead at 56-54 with 5:34 left in the game. They maintained that lead until Cardenas’ late free throws.

Both teams reached the championship contest after narrow victories; Boston College edged past Missouri State with a last-second 3-pointer from Strong, while Boise State narrowly defeated South Dakota State by a score of 83-82.
