EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings have announced that linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. has been placed on injured reserve following a hamstring injury sustained during their recent 30-27 overtime win against the Chicago Bears.
The decision, which was made public on Tuesday, means that Pace will be unavailable for a minimum of the Vikings’ next four games. In a related roster move, the team has activated outside linebacker Gabriel Murphy from injured reserve and signed linebacker Jamin Davis from the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.
At just 23 years old, Pace has been a key player for the Vikings, starting in every game this season. The undrafted free agent from Cincinnati has logged 56 tackles, including six tackles for loss, and recorded three sacks in his performance this year.
Gabriel Murphy, who is 24, joined the Vikings earlier as an undrafted free agent this spring but was placed on injured reserve in late August.
Jamin Davis, now 25, was added to the Packers’ practice squad on October 29 after being released by the Washington Commanders the week before. Drafted with the 19th overall pick out of Kentucky in the 2021 NFL Draft, Davis has made a notable impact with 282 tackles, seven sacks, and one interception throughout his NFL career. He turned in a career-best performance last year, leading the Commanders with 104 tackles.
The Vikings, holding a record of 9-2, are set to face the Arizona Cardinals, who are currently 6-5, on Sunday.
