HATTIESBURG, Miss. — In an exhilarating matchup Monday night at the Basketball Travelers Invitational, Abilene Christian triumphed over Southern Miss with a score of 82-74. Leonardo Bettiol emerged as a key player for the Wildcats, contributing 17 points to the team’s victory.
Bettiol displayed his shooting proficiency, making 4 of 8 field goals and impressively converting 9 of 11 free throws. Alongside him, Bradyn Hubbard also made a significant impact, scoring 16 points with an efficient shooting performance of 6 of 9 from the field and hitting 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. In addition, both players grabbed eight rebounds, helping their team maintain control throughout the game. Hunter Jack Madden chipped in with 13 points, although his shooting from the field was a bit more challenging, landing just 1 of 5 but making a solid 10 of 12 from the charity stripe.
On the opposing side, Neftali Alvarez stood out for the Golden Eagles, finishing the night with 21 points and securing five assists.
