Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins sustains knee injury in matchup with Ravens

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — During the second quarter of the game on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins encountered a knee injury.

The team reported that Dobbins’ return to the game was uncertain, but he was notably absent from the Chargers’ sideline as the second half commenced.

Prior to the injury, Dobbins had recorded 40 yards on six carries. Drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he faced a tough start to his career, being sidelined for a significant portion of two seasons due to various injuries.

In the offseason, Dobbins signed a one-year contract with the Chargers. Entering the matchup, he was the third-leading rusher in the AFC, accumulating a total of 726 yards and boasting an impressive average of 4.8 yards per carry.

Dobbins has garnered attention as a potential candidate for the Comeback Player of the Year award after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in the opening game of the previous season.
