SAN JOSE, Costa Rica — A small aircraft with six individuals on board crashed on Monday in the vicinity of the capital, though the health status of those inside remains unknown.

Authorities from the country’s civil aviation agency reported that the Cessna 206 Stationair went down near the Pico Blanco mountain shortly after noon.
