EMPOLI, Italy — On Monday in Serie A, Udinese managed to put an end to their three-match losing streak by securing a 1-1 draw against Empoli, thanks to a goal from Keinan Davis with just 14 minutes left in the match.
The English forward, who previously played for Watford and Aston Villa, made his presence felt by scoring with a powerful header from a corner kick that was directed towards the near post, leveling the score in the 76th minute.
Empoli had initially taken the lead in the first half when Pietro Pellegri netted his third goal in as many games. The Torino loanee had been struggling during the season but turned things around, having scored in his last two matches, including a notable goal in a 1-0 victory against Como and another in a 1-1 tie with Lecce prior to the international break.
For Udinese, this draw marked their first point in four matches, a stark contrast to their earlier defeats against Atalanta, Juventus, and Venezia. Following the match, both teams maintained their positions in the middle of the table, with Udinese sitting in ninth place and Empoli closely following in tenth.
