Brandon Graham is likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the season following a torn triceps injury he sustained during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 37-20 victory against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.
Graham expressed, “If I had to go out like this, I gave everything I got.” Prior to this injury, he had been experiencing tendinitis in his triceps but noted that this injury felt notably different. “It stung a little longer. And then, when they tried to examine me, I knew something wasn’t right,” he remarked.
In the game, Graham recorded two tackles and a sack, contributing to a defensive unit that effectively pressured Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, resulting in five sacks overall. Over the course of the season, he has amassed 3 1/2 sacks in what marks his 15th year with the Eagles.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed the need for further evaluation of Graham’s injury before definitively ruling him out for the rest of the season. He referred to Graham as “one of my favorite guys I’ve ever been able to coach.” Sirianni conveyed, “Again, I’m not ready to talk about it yet. Holding out hope, and we’ll see.”
Since being drafted 13th overall in 2010, Graham has been a cornerstone player for the Eagles. He currently holds 76 1/2 career sacks, positioning himself third in the franchise’s history with his second-quarter sack of Stafford.
Graham had his best season in 2022, where he achieved a total of 11 sacks, and was also part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning team during the 2017 season, contributing by forcing a fumble in their 41-33 triumph over New England.
Saquon Barkley praised Graham, highlighting the significant role he played in helping him acclimate to the Eagles after his six years with their NFC East rival, the New York Giants. Barkley stated, “The energy and the passion that he brings, not only to this team but to this city, he epitomizes what it means to be a Philadelphia Eagle.” He went on to emphasize that the entire team needs to align with Graham’s dedication and leadership. “He’s going to come to work still with a smile on his face, and on Sundays when that team is walking by … He’s a leader of this team, and we’re going to rally around him and have his back,” Barkley affirmed.
