Seton Hall edges Florida Atlantic 63-61 to secure 3rd place at the Charleston Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Chaunce Jenkins contributed significantly with 15 points, aiding Seton Hall in claiming a close 63-61 victory over Florida Atlantic in the third-place matchup of the Charleston Classic on Sunday evening.

Jenkins had a shooting night where he made 5 of his 15 attempts from the field, including 3 out of 8 from beyond the arc, as the Pirates improved their season record to 4-3. Scotty Middleton also made a notable contribution, finishing with 10 points and a perfect shooting record of 4 for 4. Additionally, Yacine Toumi added nine points, hitting 4 of 7 from the field, though he struggled somewhat with his three-point shooting, making just 1 of 4 attempts.

On the other side, it was Leland Walker who stood out for the Owls, netting 16 points and grabbing six rebounds. Florida Atlantic’s efforts were further supported by Matas Vokietaitis, who tallied 10 points along with nine rebounds. Kaleb Glenn also chipped in with nine points during the contest.

Jenkins showed his scoring prowess early on, putting up 10 points in the first half, helping Seton Hall secure a strong 34-22 lead at halftime. As the game progressed into the second half, Toumi emerged as the leading scorer for Seton Hall, contributing six points. Although the Pirates experienced a 10-point deficit in the second half, they managed to maintain their lead and secure the win.

In a tense final moment, Walker had an opportunity to win the game for the Owls with a three-pointer as time expired, but his shot fell short.
