SAN DIEGO — Santiago Trouet contributed significantly to San Diego’s 68-61 victory over Idaho on Sunday evening, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Toreros, who improved their record to 2-4.
Deven Dahlke was also instrumental in the win, contributing 15 points with an impressive shooting performance—making 5 of 6 field goals, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, and flawlessly hitting all 3 free-throw attempts. Steven Jamerson II added to the scoring with 12 points, shooting 4 of 7 from the field and a perfect 4 of 4 from the free-throw line while also making three steals.
For the Vandals, who fell to a 2-5 record, Kolton Mitchell emerged as the leading scorer with 13 points, along with two steals. Kristian Gonzalez supported the team with 12 points, while Jack Payne pitched in with nine points and grabbed six rebounds.
The game saw San Diego heading into halftime with a slim lead of 26-25. Jamerson was the standout scorer for the Toreros during the first half, netting six points. A decisive 9-0 run at the outset of the second half allowed San Diego to bounce back from a one-point deficit and take control of the game, extending their lead to 38-30 with 15:34 left to play. Dahlke came alive in the second half, scoring 15 points and solidifying the team’s advantage as they closed out the game successfully.
