NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In a commanding performance, Jacob Ognacevic contributed 16 points to help Lipscomb secure a 77-53 triumph over Jackson State during the BBN Invitational held on Sunday night.
Ognacevic also pulled down eight rebounds for the Bisons, who improved their record to 3-4. Gyasi Powell was another key player, finishing the game with 13 points, having made 5 of 10 attempts from the field, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc, while also collecting seven rebounds. Additionally, Dylan Faulkner scored nine points, hitting 3 of 11 overall and was 3 of 4 from the charity stripe.
For the Tigers, who now sit at 0-7, Jayme Mitchell topped the scoring with 15 points and six rebounds. Tamarion Hoover contributed 10 points along with seven rebounds, while Dorian McMillian also scored 10 points and registered six rebounds.
The loss marked the eighth consecutive defeat for Jackson State, which includes a disappointing exit at the hands of Texas Southern in the previous season’s SWAC Tournament.
