NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — In an exciting matchup on Sunday, Jayden Brown stepped up for Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), contributing significantly to the team’s 64-56 win over Binghamton. Brown tallied 17 points while also collecting eight rebounds, helping the Blue Devils improve their record to 3-3 for the season.
Jordan Jones was another key player for CCSU, finishing the game with 15 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Davonte Sweatman had a solid performance as well, scoring 14 points. He managed to connect on 3 of 10 attempts from the floor, including two successful three-pointers out of four tries, and was flawless from the free-throw line, hitting all six of his attempts.
On the other side, Tymu Chenery led the Bearcats (now 2-5) with 16 points and also contributed four assists. Nehemiah Benson added to the Bearcats’ efforts with 14 points and six rebounds, while Gavin Walsh provided support with nine points and eight rebounds.
Looking ahead, Central Connecticut State will host UMass-Lowell in their next matchup on Sunday. Binghamton, on the other hand, will be facing off against Niagara this coming Friday.
