BOONE, N.C. — In an exciting matchup on Sunday, Myles Tate shined for Appalachian State, scoring 20 points in a thrilling 79-76 victory over William & Mary. The game culminated with Dior Conners making a crucial 3-pointer just as the clock ticked down to one second.
Tate also contributed significantly with five rebounds and 10 assists, while the Mountaineers improved their record to 3-2. Conners had an impressive outing, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and hitting 5 of 8 from beyond the arc, resulting in 15 points. CJ Huntley added to the scoreboard with 14 points, shooting 6 out of 9 from the field but struggled slightly at the free-throw line, going 1 for 4.
On the other side, Noah Collier spearheaded the Tribe’s efforts, finishing with 19 points and eight rebounds in total. William & Mary’s performance also included solid contributions from Malachi Ndur, who scored 13 points, and Kyle Pulliam with 12 points.
The halftime score favored Appalachian State, who led 42-30, buoyed by Jamil Muttilib’s 12-point performance in the first half. Tate continued his strong play, leading the team with 15 points in the second half.
