In a strong display of football, Georgia Southern triumphed over Coastal Carolina with a score of 26-6 on Saturday.

Quarterback JC French orchestrated the offensive effort, throwing for one touchdown, while Jalen White contributed with a rushing touchdown.

Gavin Stewart was instrumental for the Eagles, successfully converting four field goals, aiding in their victory and improving their overall record to 7-2, with a 5-4 mark in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Georgia Southern defense played a crucial role, limiting the Chanticleers to just two field goals and a mere 12 first downs throughout the game.

French opened the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Sanders Jr. early in the first quarter, establishing a 10-0 advantage for his team.

By halftime, Georgia Southern maintained a 13-3 lead as they continued to control the game.

In the fourth quarter, Stewart’s third field goal extended the Eagles’ lead to 16-6, before Jalen White sealed the game with a 2-yard rushing touchdown.

Gavin Stewart then capped off the scoring with a 39-yard field goal to finalize the victory for Georgia Southern.

On the other side, Coastal Carolina struggled offensively, with their points solely coming from two field goals by Kade Hensley.

French completed 25 out of 38 passes for a total of 294 yards, while Derwin Burgess Jr. was the standout receiver for Georgia Southern, making eight receptions for 98 yards.

For the Chanticleers, Braydon Bennett was a bright spot, rushing for 138 yards, but the team’s quarterback situation was less successful, as they collectively went 11-for-32 in passing, accumulating only 127 yards accompanied by three interceptions.
