In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Columbia triumphed over Stony Brook with a decisive score of 82-63, largely thanks to an impressive performance by Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa, who scored 37 points.
De La Rosa was highly efficient, shooting 14 for 18 from the field and nailing 9 of his 13 attempts from three-point range, contributing significantly to Columbia’s unbeaten record of 7-0 this season.
Kenny Noland also stood out for the Lions, contributing 17 points while securing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. Meanwhile, Blair Thompson struggled a bit, finishing with just five points on 2 of 8 shooting from the floor and only managing 1 of 3 from the free-throw line.
For Stony Brook, CJ Luster II was their leading scorer with 14 points. Joseph Octave had a solid outing as well, adding 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Ben Wight also recorded 12 points in the effort.
Columbia’s victory marks their seventh consecutive win, showcasing their strong start to the season as they continue to perform excellently on both ends of the court.
