ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — In an exciting match on Saturday night, Darren Buchanan Jr. contributed significantly with 17 points, leading George Washington to an 83-74 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette.
Buchanan also notched a double-double with 10 rebounds, further proving his impact on the game for the Revolutionaries, who improved their record to 5-1 this season.
Trey Autry had a commendable performance as well, scoring 16 points. He was particularly effective from beyond the arc, finishing with a perfect 3-for-3 shooting from three-point range and hitting 7 of his 8 free throw attempts.
Rafael Castro chipped in with 13 points, shooting 3 of 3 from the field and converting 7 out of 10 from the free-throw line, contributing to the team’s offensive success.
On the other side, the Ragin’ Cajuns struggled with a record of 1-5, despite a strong effort from Mostapha El Moutaouakkil, who was the top scorer with 19 points and also grabbed seven rebounds.
Christian Wright added 13 points to the tally for Louisiana, while Kyran Ratliff contributed 11 points along with six rebounds.
