LOS ANGELES — Snoop Dogg arrived sporting a jacket that featured the name and number of JuJu Watkins, making a fashion statement at the highly anticipated college basketball matchup. Michael B. Jordan delighted a USC fan when he spontaneously signed an autograph during a timeout, adding to the star-studded atmosphere of the event. The game, which showcased third-ranked Southern California against the sixth-ranked Notre Dame, ended with the Fighting Irish emerging victorious with a score of 74-61, preserving their undefeated record on national television.

Fighting Irish standout athlete Hannah Hidalgo acknowledged the celebrity presence but emphasized her focus on team success. “I knew this game would attract a lot of attention, and I appreciate that. However, my main concern is to win with my team,” Hidalgo stated.

Actor Jason Sudeikis, known for his frequent appearances at college and WNBA events, was spotted sitting courtside, adding to the star power at the Galen Center. The audience erupted with enthusiasm when Michael B. Jordan appeared on the videoboard, followed by a fan wearing a USC sweatshirt who displayed a magazine cover featuring the “Black Panther” star.

Jordan responded to the excitement by mimicking an autograph gesture, prompting the enthusiastic fan to make her way from the stands to his seat. He engaged with her, signed the magazine, and the two shared a brief embrace, earning applause from the packed crowd of 7,894.

USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb remarked on the significance of Los Angeles hosting such a pivotal women’s basketball event. “With a sold-out crowd and the level of star power present, it’s incredible to see Los Angeles being recognized as the center of women’s basketball this weekend,” she remarked.

The event also drew a remarkable lineup of women’s basketball legends from both past and present, including Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller, Candace Parker, Cameron Brink, Chiney Ogwumike, and Dearica Hamby. Even Phoenix Suns player Oso Ighodaro joined the crowd, highlighting the significance of the occasion in the world of women’s sports.
