BUIES CREEK, N.C. — In an impressive display of skill, Tyrell Greene Jr. led the Towson Tigers to a commanding 45-23 victory over the Campbell Camels on Saturday, scoring three touchdowns. Greene showcased his talent with a 7-yard touchdown run at the 12:55 mark in the final quarter. Soon after, following an interception by Will Middleton off Campbell’s quarterback Mike Chandler II, Greene dashed for a 30-yard touchdown, extending Towson’s lead to 35-16 just thirty seconds later. He also contributed with a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, wrapping up the game with 41 yards on nine carries.
Devin Matthews was another standout for Towson (7-5, 5-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association), racking up 134 yards on 15 attempts, including a spectacular 54-yard touchdown run. Meanwhile, quarterback Seth Brown demonstrated his proficiency, completing 10 of 15 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. In the closing moments of the game, Christopher Watkins also added to the score with a touchdown run.
On the other side, Campbell (3-9, 1-7) had Mark Biggins score a 1-yard touchdown. Mike Chandler struggled with his passing, completing 13 of 27 attempts for 135 yards, accompanied by one touchdown and two interceptions. Connor Lytton attempted five field goals for the Camels, converting three.
With this win, the Tigers celebrated their second winning season in three years and their first seven-win campaign since 2019. Additionally, this match marked the inaugural showdown between the two teams, setting the stage for potential future encounters.
