In a surprising turn of events, Celta Vigo managed to secure a remarkable 2-2 draw against a struggling 10-man Barcelona at their home ground during a Spanish league match on Saturday.
Barcelona seemed on the verge of a victory, bolstered by goals from Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, which had placed them in a favorable position just minutes before the game reached its conclusion.
However, the match took a dramatic twist when Marc Casadó, a key defensive midfielder for Barcelona, received a second yellow card in the 81st minute and was subsequently dismissed.
Shortly thereafter, an error from defender Jules Koundé, who lost control of the ball in his own area, allowed Alfon González to capitalize on the mistake and score, bringing Celta Vigo back into contention with just six minutes left to play.
With momentum swinging in their favor, Celta continued to apply pressure on Barcelona’s defense. In the 86th minute, Hugo Álvarez struck a powerful shot that found the back of the net, leveling the score and leaving Barcelona unable to cope with the numerical disadvantage.
