DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — In an intense matchup on Friday night, Sam Lewis contributed significantly to Toledo’s thrilling 82-80 victory over Jacksonville State with his impressive 16 points.
Lewis showcased his shooting prowess, making 6 of his 10 attempts from the field, including an outstanding 4 for 5 from beyond the arc. The Rockets improved their record to 5-1 with this win. Isaiah Adams was another key player for Toledo, scoring 14 points while also dishing out six assists. Meanwhile, Sonny Wilson had a somewhat challenging night but managed to score 12 points, hitting 5 of 14 shots.
On the other side, Jacksonville State, which now holds a record of 4-2, was spearheaded by Jaron Pierre Jr. He dominated the court with a noteworthy performance, scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Koree Cotton was also instrumental, contributing 13 points to his team’s effort. Additionally, Marcellus Brigham Jr. added 12 points along with six rebounds, rounding out the Gamecocks’ scoring.
