WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — In an impressive display during the Greenbrier Tip-Off, Jaland Lowe led the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 74-63 victory over LSU, scoring 19 of his career-high 22 points in the second half. Alongside his scoring, Lowe contributed eight rebounds and six assists to the team’s success.

Pittsburgh remains unbeaten with a record of 6-0 and advances to face the winner of the Wisconsin-UCF game on Sunday, aiming for the tournament championship. This marks the Panthers’ best start to a season since the 2018-19 campaign.

Lowe’s performance included four 3-pointers, while Ishmael Leggett added 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Cameron Corhen and Zack Austin also made significant contributions, scoring 14 and 10 points, respectively. The team demonstrated a strong offensive adjustment in the second half, shooting an impressive 64% after struggling with a 31% shooting percentage in the first half.

On the other side, LSU, sporting a 4-1 record, had Jalen Reed leading the charge with 14 points and seven rebounds. Vyctorius Miller contributed off the bench with another 14 points, while Cam Carter chipped in with 11 points, but the Tigers’ shooting struggles were evident as they finished the game with a 37% success rate.

After trailing by as many as 12 points in the second half, LSU managed to narrow the gap to four with a four-point play from Miller with six minutes remaining in the game. However, Lowe responded with eight points of his own, assisted Corhen for multiple dunks, and Leggett added another seven points, allowing the Panthers to secure their lead.

Pittsburgh encountered challenges toward the end of the first half, losing their lead briefly, but came out blazing in the second half. The Panthers scored the first 13 points of the half, making their initial five shots. LSU struggled significantly, missing their first 12 shots before finally scoring through Carter nearly seven minutes into the second half.

The game saw LSU take its only lead when Lowe received a technical foul right before halftime. Carter hit a free throw as part of an 8-2 run, allowing the Tigers to head into the break with a narrow advantage of 28-27.
