NORTH SOUND, Antigua — On Friday, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first in their inaugural test against the West Indies.

Following a challenging series against South Africa where they experienced a 2-0 loss, including a disheartening defeat by an innings and 273 runs over the course of just three days, Bangladesh is looking to bounce back.

The West Indies have not participated in test cricket since August, when they suffered a 1-0 series defeat to South Africa. In anticipation of sunny conditions at North Sound, they have selected a four-man pace attack to take the field.

The West Indies’ lineup features Kraigg Brathwaite as captain, accompanied by players Mikyle Louis, Alick Athanaze, Keacy Carty, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Kemar Roach, and Jayden Seales.

Conversely, Bangladesh’s team includes Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mominul Haque, Shahadat Hossain, as well as captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Taskin Ahmed, Taijul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, and Shoriful Islam.
