DALLAS — Luka Doncic is set to miss an upcoming three-game road trip due to a sprained right wrist, as confirmed by the Dallas Mavericks. This series of games kicks off on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets. The team indicated that the five-time All-Star will undergo re-evaluation in about a week. During this road trip, the Mavericks are also scheduled to face the Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks, which implies that Doncic will likely be sidelined for a home game against the New York Knicks the following Wednesday as well.
Doncic reported sensing discomfort in his wrist during the first quarter of the Mavericks’ 132-91 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Prior to this injury, he had already missed the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a right knee contusion, marking that absence as his first of the current season.
Currently, Doncic ranks eighth in the NBA for scoring, maintaining an impressive average of 28.1 points per game. He is part of a talented backcourt that also features Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson, with Irving contributing an average of 24.3 points per game. The Mavericks, who were last year’s Western Conference champions, will be seeking to navigate this stretch without their star player.
