LAS VEGAS — In a commanding performance, Brooklyn Hicks contributed significantly off the bench with 16 points, propelling UNLV to an 80-59 victory over Pepperdine on Wednesday night.

Hicks had an impressive shooting night, converting 7 of 11 attempts, which included 2 of 5 from three-point range. The Rebels improved their season record to 3-1 due to strong performances from several players. Jeremiah Cherry added 14 points to the scoreboard, making 5 of 7 attempts and going a perfect 4 for 4 at the free-throw line, while also securing five rebounds. Dedan Thomas Jr. also impressed with 13 points, shooting 3 of 5 overall and hitting all three of his three-point attempts, alongside a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.

Although Pepperdine outperformed UNLV in the second half, scoring eight more points than the Rebels, it was not enough to change the outcome. Cherry continued his strong performance, leading the Rebels in scoring in the second half with eight points.
